SANCTUARIES OF MIDDLE EARTH - WITH STONE AND BOUGH: TWO SCENERY PROJECTS FOR RIVENDELL title image

Even though most of the real action and major battles in The Lord of The Rings take place far from Rivendell, it's not to say that small skirmishes or even major Orc offensives didn't take place near this secluded Elven-refuge. While building Rivendell in its entirety would certainly be an exciting-but-massive undertaking, we thought we'd cover something a little more approachable. Both of the projects, each built by Rick Smith, illustrate some of the architecture that might be found on the outskirts of Elrond's lands.

Below you will find two projects: a sturdy Elven bridge built of stone, and a graceful gazebo that you could use to mark an entrance to Rivendell.
