| I've
been a Warhammer 40,000 player since I was 10 years old,
but it wasn't until the release of 6th Edition that I
got bitten by the Warhammer bug. Sure, I'd dabbled with
Dwarves, and painted a few units that I really liked the
look of, but all that changed with Games Day 2000. That
was the fateful occasion when I saw the new plastic Empire
Knights. From there, it was a short hop, skip, and jump
into the heady heights of my all-Knight army that I've
used ever since. Sure, Bretonnians have the finest Knights
in the Old World; sure, the Empire is famed for its blocks
of hardy Halberdiers, but every now and again, it's fun
to show up for a game with nothing but Empire Knights
(well, Knights and other assorted horsemen, anyway). With
the new Empire Army book lurking about, the cavalry-intensive
Empire army is still very much a force to be reckoned
with. In fact, it is more balanced and varied than ever
before. On the next few pages, I'll divulge my take on
the various units available in an Empire cavalry force,
and their best uses. |
