MODELLING

As soon as you stick your first miniature together, you're modelling. You need to know some basic techniques to assemble any army, but as you become more confident, you may find you want to experiment by altering models, or perhaps you fancy having a go at one of our large multi-part kits.

BEGINNER'S GUIDE

ADDITIONAL HELP AND ADVICE

If you want some help with a modelling project, or just want to find out more, here are some suggestions:

  • Visit a GW store. All our staff are keen hobbyists themselves, so if want some advice, just ask - they'll be pleased to help.
  • Read Books and Magazines. Our hobby magazine White Dwarf contains plenty of articles about painting and modelling, as well as photos of wonderful models to inspire you. If you look round, you'll be able to find plenty of books about modelling too.
  • Visit a Club. Where you'll meet other gamers who will be only too happy to give you the benefit of their advice.
  • Check this Website as we'll be publishing all sorts of helpful hints and tips, as well as a large selection of modelling projects.

THE GOLDEN DEMON COMPETITION

Every year, Games Workshop hold a massive gaming event called Games Day, where you can go and play our games, meet famous GW personalities, and buy loads of cool stuff. Games Day is also the venue for the Golden Demon painting competition, where painters and modellers from all over the world compete for the honour of winning the Slayer Sword.
