to Paint Citadel Miniatures |
| |
Painting Citadel Miniatures takes a
combination of practice, knowledge, and patience. However,
painting toy soldiers is a fun and exciting hobby
one that you can pick up and learn with minimal effort.
Over the following pages, we'll explore
the theories and proper steps of painting. This repertoire
of techniques includes: overbrushing and drybrushing,
applying washes and stains, different types of layering
techniques, undercoating your models, thinning your
paints with water, and mixing Citadel Colours with each
other all with clear instructions and imagery
to help you pick them up. With the help of the book
How to Paint Citadel Miniatures, we'll delve
into all those strange mysteries of painting your models
to an adequate tabletop standard and beyond.
To help you advance beyond basic painting
techniques, we've broken this section down into four
distinct areas: Overbrushing, Drybrushing
(as drybrushing tends to take a little more finesse
than overbrushing), Washes, Staining &
Glazing (which are both very similar and share things
in common with washes), and finally Layering
(which includes both basic and advanced techniques).
All of the techniques listed here can
be used in tandem with one another, or you can try to
paint an entire model with just one technique. Usually,
the model dictates the technique, but feel free to experiment
with all of these ideas.
